RunRICKYrun are proud to announce BROOKS MALAYSIA as kit sponsors for the project.

Running 6 marathons over the next 12 months for charity will be an arduous task, however with positive support it will be significantly easier – physically, emotionally, mentally and of course financially.

As such Ricky Matthews is proud and delighted to announce that the Malaysian arm of the US sportswear manufacturer BROOKS have agreed to be kit sponsors for the runRICKYrun Project.

I personally would like to thank Wilson Lee (from Brooks) for his assistance in arranging the sponsorship. Your support is very much appreciated.

This is my first experience of using the Brooks range of running shoes.

The Brooks Ghost 10 are from the “cushioning” range that Brooks offer. Ideal for the long distance runner where cushioning is very important.

With cushioning being important you would think that the shoe would have a slight heavier feel, however on the first few runs I have not noticed any weight to the shoe. In fact the first few training runs have been slightly faster than normal.

The Ghost 10 shoe comes in 4 colours – the LIME (shown opposite), Red, Grey & Black.

With several half marathons and longer runs planned over the next few months in preparations for Boston in April, I am sure that there will be a chance for me to fully review the shoe and my thoughts on this. Please subscribe to this blog (enter your email in the link on the top right of page) to see this first.

There are a few more corporates that have expressed and interest in supporting this charity project so please look out for the news.

TheRunningPlan join runRICKYrun supporters…….

We are proud to announce the another supporter for the runRICKYrun Project.

The Running Plan have agreed to provide customised training programs to Ricky for the project. Currently Ricky is in week 4 of the 18 week program in preparation for Boston Marathon in April.

Ricky stated, “I have always felt that I would be able to finish the 6 marathons if I can stay injury free. After meeting with Mark and conversing with Jeff, I now feel motivated that the challenge will certainly be achievable and I could even get myself in with a chance to beat my 4:08 PB”.

”The real challenge will be in Q3 when I have Berlin, Chicago & New York Marathons within 7 weeks. I was worried how my body will cope with the race, recovery, race, recovery, race in such a short time. However after seeing how professional the customised training programs are, I feel that I can cope with all the challenges that this project will throw at me.

Jeff added “all the very best with your amazing project & adventure”
